Art Zone, Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi
The new Art Studio opened in November 2017 to host Abu Dhabi Art and serves budding and professional artists of all ages with a creative drop-in area for toddlers, classes for pre-teens, teens and adults and private studios for artists in residence. These activities are complimented by a children’s library and an artist's supply store and canvas stretching station. The material palettes are neutral with warm and earthy undertones and nature is introduced into the windowless former gallery space by providing stretched ceilings lit by daylight simulating sources and gobo projectors providing the shadowy illusion of leafy palm groves over a linear stone falaj feature designed to gently flow down the different activity platforms providing washing stations at various heights to cater for artists of all ages.
