Cinema at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority appointed Lulie Fisher Design Studio to transform their Saadiyat Island sales centre into an art house cinema and performance space with a cinema lounge for ticket sales, refreshments and to host pre and post function events. The lounge combines white limestone and grey marble with pale green concretes and subtly spiced fabrics. Textures are playfully juxtaposed to create drama and interest. The cinema and performance space comprises limestone seating tiers upholstered with fabrics inspired by nature and fabric wrapped acoustic wall panels. The circular form of the space allows both film screenings and theatre or dance performances.
